Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee

Norm

Norm is the name of a duo of graphic designers from Switzerland - Dimitri Bruni and Manual Krebs - known around the world for their elegance and rigour, shot through with a dose of deadpan humour bordering on lunacy, as witnessed in Introduction, their first book on systems, a really hilarious but hard-to-find opus that we do not despair of bringing to you one day.
In the meantime, we will start with Bruce Lee - The King of Kung Fu, a book with an original print run of 350 copies, supplemented by the eponymous poster (150 prints only). Both were distributed by Lineto, and both are now out of stock.

We do not remember exactly when and how we came to be in possession of the book Bruce Lee - The King of Kung Fu.
Presumably, we bought it in Beirut (where the book was published) or in Tehran (although it is written in Arabic). Possibly it was a present given to us by someone some time in the past. It must have been in our office for quite a while when, suddenly, we re-discovered it one day.

The brutalist attitude behind this book design inspired us to re-publish it. Our aim was to achieve the best possible reproduction of these already degraded images. In order to minimize any loss in quality, we printed the images on high gloss paper using frequency-modulated screens. To lend the images the greatest possible presence, we also completely eliminated any typographical elements from the pages. All texts were in Arabic, hence not accessible to most of us anyway, and they would only have distracted attention from the images.
