Choices 1&2

Choices 1&2 is the digital version of the books, Choices and Choices 2, which recount and document the artistic curation of gallery owner Magda Danysz over the last decade. These are, above all, her “choices”: from the pop surrealists Mark Ryden and Marion Peck, through a generation of street art performers she has been defending from their first: Shepard Fairey, Dalek, Space Invader, JR, as well as unclassifiable artists like Ultralab™, Jean-Luc Moerman, Christian Gonzenbach, Julian Schnabel... Works appear in succession in the book like a visit to the exhibitions that Danysz has devoted or is going to devote to them, whether in her Paris or Shanghai gallery. Magda Danysz shares with us here a selection of artists and pieces dear to her that she discovered in Europe, the United States and, more recently, in China. It may be hard to find a common denominator between their widely varying genres, practices and problems, but there's no doubting that it’s the identity of the gallery owner itself that this journey reveals.
