Art Book Magazine

This book is the second edition dedicated to the group Ultralab™. It gathers three very different projects, and adds an interview of the collective by Ariel Kyrou as well as texts by Philippe Vasset and Elisabeth Lebovici. The projects: Diorama III™ or how to live under the influence of war in time of peace, as seen through the more or less fictitious representation of armed conflict offered by the film and video game industry; Société Anonyme™ and the future-as-brand of artistes©; and 3866™, an anonymous experiment better known under the name of “the business of the booby-trapped cards” that was the talk of the artistic world in 1999, when a dozen pretend invitation cards were sent throughout the art milieu. The documents (cards, press pack, articles etc.) are carefully reproduced here, showing the scale and the relevance of the operation, and the issues at stake therein, artistic as well as strategic and political.
A dense work, relevant today
, whose digital version more than makes sense, considering the quality and wealth of the iconography.
